Who We Are

Mosaic Vocational School is a locally owned and operated school with a focus on short-term training for students in our community. We offer flexibility in scheduling, small classes, individual tutoring, and new ideas. We partner with other institutions and industry experts to bring together training not otherwise available locally.

Mosaic customizes training to fit the needs of students who are juggling jobs and family. Lifelong learning is part of today’s reality and students will access many types of training, online, in class, supported study or a combination of training options in their work life. At Mosaic, students can expect to be treated with caring and respect; we offer a variety of learning environments to meet the needs of the learner. If you need to learn it, we’ll find a way to help you.

Many workers find that they can no longer stay in their first job and need to upgrade their skills as they transition to a new career. Just a short course or certificate may fill the skills gap and give people confidence to apply for a new job.

Our key areas of training:

1. Computer and technology training, PC’s, Macs, tablets and other devices
2. Job training and short certificate training, tourism, health and safety
3. Individual tutoring, customized training and support, business coaching
4. Essential skills assessments and training
5. Research projects, website development
6. Work experience and supported learning
7. Corporate training, update computer skills
8. Safety training

The rate of change in our world is increasing with light speed and to keep up we frequently have to upgrade skills, especially technical and computer skills. At Mosaic we continually revise our course list based on requests and instructor availability. If you have a request for training please contact us.

Our goal is to continue to build partnerships with other agencies, so together we can make available the best, most appropriate training for students.

Mosaic has partnered in training with many government and First Nations agencies: Ministry of Advanced Education and Labour Market Development, Service Canada, WorkSafeBC, Mamalilikulla Band, Kwaikah Band, Campbell River Band, Cape Mudge Band, Homalco Band, North Vancouver Island Aboriginal Training Society, Nanaimo Youth Services, Nuu-chah-nulth Tribal Council, Mowachaht/Muchalaht Band, Laichwiltach Family Life Society, and North Island Employment Foundations.
